The New Republic - TNR has had its ups and downs. It hasn't been at the top of form recently but it is better than almost everything else out there.
Campaign 96 Humor - on a lighter note. Sometimes this page is even funny.
Slate - an Web magazine from Micheal Kinsley. Sure it's a front for the Prince of Darkness Bill Gates, and a sometimes disconcerting mish-mash of Generation X babble and serious discourse but read it for Kinsley.
