NEW - For Linux Quakers I have a menu driven console perl script for browsing Quake 2 servers and launching Q2. It is based on quickspy (no longer being updated) so I call it quickspy2. It can use lists from the Web or local files. See Quickspy2 for more details.

For automatic ppp see auto-ppp.txt and req-rout.txt. See ip-up.txt for an ip-up script that speeds up request-route by killing the sleep lock instead of waiting for 60 second timeout.

Applixware printing has limited fixed options. ax_custom_print.tgz is a macro and dialog that makes it easy to edit or customize the print command line string on a per document basis (for example: adding a phone number for efax as a printer).

dialin.txt explains how I set up dialin auto ppp on my Linux box using pap authentication so Win95 clients only need to enter their name and password in the DUN connection box (no script required).

sfax.bin is a fax script or binary that is missing in Star Office 5.0 for Linux. So I wrote a substitute perl script to parse the phone number out of the ps output from a fax_queue printer and pass everything on to efax set up to work with lpr.

ppp-on.tgz includes current ppp-on, ppp-off, ppp-on-dialer from Slackware 96 (3.1). For CompuServe see ppp-cis.tgz.

The xnet.dip and xnet.ppp are old Slackware 2.0 versions.

If Linux can't tell you who mail is 'from' see from.pl.

See hp-print.txt for setting up printcap and filters for HP Laserjet. Although, I am now using 'magicfilter'.

For remote printing to your Linux box from your ISP, look for 'rlpr' on your local sunsite mirror.
